Women’s Swimming Defeats Stevens, 167-92



. – The TCNJ women’s swimming team hosted the Stevens Ducks and came out victorious with a score of 167-92.

The team kicked off the meet with a win in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:51.42 from TCNJ’s relay team A including Rachel Hannah, Haley Crispell, Zoe Chan, and Shannon Hesse.

Zoe Chan was able to finish on top for three individual events as well as the relay. In the 200 butterfly she finished with a time of 2:07.48. For the 100 Butterfly she finished with a time of 57.11. Lastly, in the 200 IM she finished with a time of 2:14.18

Shannon Hesse was able to win both the 100 Freestyle and 50 Freestyle with a time of 54.12 for the 100 and 24.37 for the 50

Faith Cortright was able to finish first in the 200 Freestyle with a time of 2:02.83 with teammate Brianna Hatzold close behind with a time of 2:04.18. Cortright also finished first with a time of 5:33.02 in 500 Freestyle.

TCNJ was also able to place first in the 100 backstroke with Rachel Hannah’s time of 1:01.14 and in the 100 breaststroke with Haley Crispell’s time of 1:11.06.

Hannah and Crispell also both finished first for their 200 backstroke and breaststroke. Hannah finished the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:15.48 and Crispell finished the 200 breaststroke with a time of 2:35.08.

Autumn-Brook Tucker, Rachel Hannah, Jamie Bowne, and Shannon Hesse ended the women’s portion of the meet with their final win in the 400 Freestyle relay at 3:46.65.

The Lions are back in action against Ramapo next Saturday.
