Andreas Zaglis, Secretary General of the International Basketball Federation (FIBA), spoke about Egypt’s hosting of the FIFA Club World Cup in February next year.
The International Basketball Federation “FIBA” sent a letter to the Egyptian Federation, announcing the selection of Egypt to host the World Cup, in which Zamalek, the African champion and crowned with the African Club Championship BAL, will participate.
“We are looking forward to this event and look forward to this historic moment when the World Cup will be held in Africa and an African club will participate in it,” Zagles said in official statements today.
“The FIFA Club World Cup 2022 will be a turning point in the competition and another important step in realizing FIBA’s strategy in shaping the vision of international club competitions,” Zagles added.
The International Federation indicated in its statement today, Friday, that the FIFA Club World Cup, which began 56 years ago, is witnessing a pivotal stage in its history, as it will be held next February for the first time in the African continent.
The competition will be held with the participation of Zamalek club, Spanish Burgos, European representative, Brazilian Flamengo, South American representative, and American Lakeland Magic, the G-league champion and NBA representative.
