Spanish press reports said today, Thursday, that Barcelona prefers to sign Argentine striker Lautaro Martinez, Inter Milan player, over returning Brazilian star Neymar from Paris Saint-Germain.
According to the newspaper “Mundo Deportivo”, several reasons suggest Barcelona’s decision to sign Lautaro Martinez at the expense of Neymar, and perhaps the first of these is the economic “conspiracy” that Neymar tried to implement against the Catalan club last summer.
She added that Neymar and his father stipulated that Barcelona president Josep Maria Bartomeu, last summer, withdraw the cases against Barcelona, in exchange for a promise to financially compensate the player if he was renewed with Barca after returning.
The newspaper close to Barcelona added that Barcelona gives priority to supporting the spearhead, especially with the progress of Uruguayan striker Luis Suarez, who has completed 33 years.
The newspaper pointed out that another reason reinforces Barcelona’s decision to include Laotaro, which is that the Argentine player receives an annual salary of only two million euros with Inter Milan, and Barca offers him 7 million euros annually.
In return, Neymar gets 36 million euros annually from Paris Saint-Germain, and offers Barca to reduce his salary to 25 million euros annually.
It is noteworthy that Lautauro Martinez is 22 years old, and this season he scored 16 goals and assisted 4 in 31 games with Inter Milan, while Neymar is 28 years old, and this season he scored 18 goals and assisted 10 in 22 games.
