The evening clash will mark the first league meeting between the sides since 2009.

Sheffield United midfielder Mark Duffy is expected to be in Chris Wilder’s line-up following treatment for a knock he picked up in Tuesday’s defeat against Fulham.

Wing-back George Baldock could return at home after missing the last three games due to a hamstring injury.

Birmingham City have some concerns in midfield with David Davies chances of playing at 50/50 – Craig Gardner and Stephen Gleeson are also doubtful.

Che Adams may also be out in the match up against his former team with a hamstring injury threatening to keep him sidelined.

Blues goalkeeper Tomasz Kuszczak may also be out, having played with painkilling injections for some weeks.
