Doncaster and Chester tips – Matt Chapman’s horse racing tips for the racing on ITV this Saturday, September 16

Doncaster

SPRING INTO ACTION

SO here we go! The Flat season is on the way out and we have reached the final British Classic of the campaign. All the action is on network ITV the main channel, and we kick off at Doncaster at 1.50pm, with the Portland over 5f, one of the big sprint handicaps of the season.

The one I like is SPRING LOADED who has been in great form of late for Paul d’Arcy without actually winning. Obviously that means the handicapper knows where he is, but still a great each-way chance.

Next up is the Group 2 Park Stakes over 7f and with eight set to go to post HOME OF THE BRAVE has a great chance of an easy lead and making all the running for Hugo Palmer and James Doyle.

The Group 2 Champagne over 7f at 3.00pm, and the one I like here is James Tate’s improving HEY GAMAN.

Obviously there are horses with more potential, but being hardened in the conditions is a big plus  as we try to hit the frame at the very least.

Matt Chapman’s TV tips

He ran poorly at 100-1 last time, but the previous three efforts showed some ability and this is low grade.

Next at Chester is the Listed Stand Cup over an extended 1m4f at 2.40pm, and I will have a few quid on ACROSS THE STARS who has been disappointing this season but can bounce back for Sir Michael Stoute.

And finally ITV cover the 3.15pm at Chester, a handicap over an extended 7f.

DAN TROOP has been in tremendous form of late for Richard Fahey, and the draw in stall 1 allows him every chance of continuing his winning ways.

So best of luck everyone and let’s hope for a Classic Yeeehaaa. You Betcha!
