CONOR McGREGOR could be set for his second boxing fight – against legend of the ring Manny Pacquiao.
Rumours continue to circulate that The Notorious is not finished with boxing just yet, after his blockbuster defeat to Floyd Mayweather.
And now Pacquiao has dropped a huge hint that he could be the next in line to face two-weight UFC champ.
The Filipino boxer posted a photo of McGregor on Instagram, captioning it: “Happy Thanksgiving! Stay fit my friend. #realboxingmatch #2018 @thenotoriousmma.”
Pacquiao has not fought since he was on the end of a shock loss to Aussie Jeff Horn in July, with many believing it would signal his retirement.
Yet Pac-Man, who is heavily involved in politics in the Philippines, has not officially retired, and now fancies a crack Irish megastar McGregor.
The Notorious is widely expected to return to UFC, but again, nothing official has been announced.
The Irish trainer has been in Bahrain with his fighter Frans Mlambo, for the Brave CF 9 card.
he 40-year-old coached Mlambo to a first-round finish over Michael Deiga-Scheck then gave word on his biggest star McGregor’s future.
Kavanagh said his first fight back since his loss to former undefeated boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr will not fight this year and will return mid-2018.
MMA journalist Farah Hannoun said she spoke with Kavanagh on his recent trip to Bahrain and he said he doesn’t see McGregor returning to the UFC this year.
Hannoun said: “Just saw John Kavanagh who was very surprised by the Woodley vs Diaz rumours.
“Says Conor probably won’t return until April or mid next year.
“Still have to go through negotiations with the #UFC to place deal for next fight.”
